The Art of Knocking

From mindset to doorstep.

A direct-sales media company, and the distillation of an entire sales career into a craft, passed generation to generation with dignity and integrity. A Love Ando brand.

Origin: shedding the gear

Started while consulting in solar. Looked at the Pelican case full of cinema gear, a Canon C200 with glass and a rig, and realized run-and-gun with reps in the field doesn’t need raw, log, and color grading. It needs speed, verticality, and authenticity. Sold the kit and switched to an iPhone 11 + DJI gimbal + Rode mic. The world was going vertical.

The intent: work with solar companies that had door-to-door teams and build their sales training, culture, and media, all with an iPhone.

The career underneath it

The Art of Knocking isn’t a media startup that dabbled in sales, it’s the packaging of a career:

The ethos (craft)

The vision: the craft passes generation to generation with dignity and integrity. The personal arc that defines it:

House wisdom worth keeping: socializing happens on the couch; business happens at the kitchen table, because everyone has the drawer of bills to pay in the kitchen. If you want to make friends, sit in the living room; if you want to do business, get to the kitchen.

The sales process (craft made explicit)

Document the sales process with diagrams and the psychology behind it: prospecting → qualifying → presenting → overcoming objections → closing. Capture the objection handling and the “why” behind each move.

Culture

Outcome

Acquired pre-launch. A seven-figure equity swap with another solar company on the strength of a nicely printed soft-cover playbook and the Art of Knocking case (red iPhone 11 + gimbal). They saw the package and said “we want to buy your company” it sold before it shipped.
